Youth Program Policies & Expectations

Cast Forward Solutions is committed to providing a positive, respectful, and engaging learning environment for students. This page gives families an overview of the expectations, policies, and responsibilities connected to our youth programs.

Parents, guardians, and students are encouraged to review this information before registering. During registration, families will review and acknowledge the applicable policies and agreements before submitting the form.

Students who are 18 or older, or who turn 18 during the course, may also be required to complete their own participant acknowledgment.

Before You Register

This page is provided so families can understand the general expectations before signing up for a Cast Forward Solutions youth course.

During registration, parents, guardians, and students will be asked to review and acknowledge the applicable attendance expectations, behavior standards, safety guidelines, payment requirements, credit responsibility, media permissions, emergency information, and participation terms.

For students aged 18 or older, registration may also require the student’s review, acknowledgment, and signature.

Program Structure & Participation

Our Fall 2026 unified cohort for grades 6–12 meets in person on Tuesdays from 1:30–3:30 PM for 13 weeks. This classroom-based program focuses on entrepreneurship and leadership development. Review all attendance and participation standards.

Student Expectations & Safety

Learn about student behavior expectations, safety guidelines, prohibited items, technology use, privacy, and how students are expected to participate respectfully in a shared learning environment.

Registration, Payment & Communication

Understand payment options, vendor-funded registration, refunds, learning hours, credit responsibility, and how families and students receive important updates and schedule changes.

Youth Program Policies & Expectations

The sections below summarize the expectations that apply to Cast Forward Solutions youth programs. Families will review and acknowledge the applicable policies during registration.

Program Scope

Cast Forward Solutions youth courses are classroom-based educational programs focused on entrepreneurship, leadership, communication, project development, business research, discussion, guest speakers, and student presentations.

Courses are not designed or operated as athletic programs, physical recreation programs, childcare programs, transportation services, medical services, counseling services, or open-campus supervision.

Students are expected to participate in course-related educational activities only and remain within approved class areas during scheduled course time.

Parent, Guardian, and Student Responsibility

Parents and guardians are responsible for providing accurate registration information, emergency contact information, payment or vendor funding information, and any medical, learning, behavioral, or support information that may help Cast Forward Solutions serve the student appropriately.

Parents and guardians are also responsible for arranging transportation or approving any self-transportation plan for students under 18, reviewing expectations with their student, and communicating absences, schedule concerns, or student support needs as soon as possible.

Students are responsible for participating respectfully, following instructor directions, supporting classmates, using appropriate language and conduct, and remaining in approved course areas during scheduled class time.

For students who are 18 or older, the student shares direct responsibility for reviewing course expectations, signing required acknowledgments, communicating appropriately with Cast Forward Solutions, and following all attendance, behavior, safety, and participation requirements.

Parent, guardian, homeschool, charter school, or vendor involvement may still apply when payment, academic credit, education records, transportation, emergency contact information, or program approval is involved.

Students Who Are 18 or Turn 18 During the Course

Some high school students may be 18 years of age or older at the time of registration or may turn 18 during the course.

Students who are 18 or older are responsible for reviewing the Youth Program Policies & Expectations, signing their own participant acknowledgment when requested, following attendance and behavior expectations, communicating respectfully with instructors, and taking responsibility for their participation in the course.

Students who are 18 or older are expected to review and agree to the course policies, sign their own participant acknowledgment when requested, arrive on time, attend scheduled classes, communicate absences or early departures when appropriate, remain in approved course areas, follow behavior and safety expectations, and participate respectfully with instructors, classmates, guest speakers, facility staff, and community members.

If a student turns 18 during the course, Cast Forward Solutions may request that the student complete an updated participant acknowledgment for the remainder of the course.

If a parent, guardian, homeschool program, charter school, or vendor program is paying for the course, managing education records, applying the course toward academic credit, or receiving course documentation, additional parent, guardian, or program acknowledgment may still be required.

A student turning 18 during the course does not automatically change payment responsibility, vendor funding requirements, course expectations, attendance expectations, emergency contact expectations, or credit documentation requirements.

Attendance Policy

For the Fall 2026 Entrepreneurship & Leadership cohort, consistent attendance is vital due to the collaborative nature of our lessons, which involve interactive team projects, guest expert sessions, and peer presentations. All participants are expected to be present and punctual for every session. Should an absence be unavoidable, we request that you notify Cast Forward Solutions as early as possible to coordinate make-up materials and ensure program continuity.
Participants should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the session starts and arrange for departure or pickup within 15 minutes of the conclusion. Students who manage their own transportation must adhere to these same arrival and departure windows; independent travel does not grant permission to leave the designated instruction area early or remain on-site unsupervised outside of scheduled program hours.
Adult students (18+) are held to these identical standards for attendance, communication, and punctuality. While older participants handle their own scheduling, Cast Forward Solutions may still require coordination with parents, guardians, or sponsoring organizations where third-party funding or academic credit is involved. Because the leadership curriculum is cumulative, frequent absences can significantly hinder a student's ability to fulfill project requirements and successfully complete the Fall 2026 cohort objectives.

Entry, Exit, and Late Arrival Rules

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that students arrive and leave the scheduled class location safely. Responsibility begins when the student arrives and enters the designated classroom area for class and ends upon dismissal according to the authorized release plan.
Students should not be left unattended before the approved arrival window. Students should not arrive more than 15 minutes before their scheduled class begins unless other written arrangements have been approved by Cast Forward Solutions.
Students must be picked up, leave the facility, or depart from the approved class area within 15 minutes after class ends unless other written arrangements have been approved by Cast Forward Solutions. Advance notice for changes to the release plan is required.
Cast Forward Solutions is responsible for students only during the scheduled class time and the approved arrival and departure windows.
Students may not leave the class area, facility, or approved course location during scheduled class time unless permission has been provided and approved by Cast Forward Solutions.
Students who transport themselves, including students who drive, walk, bike, or use another form of transportation, are still required to follow all attendance, arrival, departure, facility, and communication expectations. Family responsibility for transportation outside class time remains essential.
Students under 18 who transport themselves must have permission from a parent or guardian, documented during registration or provided in writing before the course begins. Independent release and verified pickup protocols must be followed.
Students who are 18 or older may be permitted to transport themselves or leave independently if allowed by the course location, program requirements, and registration information. However, students who are 18 or older are still expected to follow all attendance, arrival, departure, facility, and communication expectations.
Upon arrival, students collect their magnetic name tag from the designated area, choose an available seat, organize their materials, and quietly prepare for class. There is no daily student check-in or assigned seating. Students arriving late should enter quietly, follow the normal arrival routine, choose an available seat, and minimize disruption to the class already in progress. Families should text or email the instructors as soon as possible when a student will be late or absent.

Transportation

Cast Forward Solutions does not provide student transportation. Parents and guardians are responsible for arranging safe transportation to and from the course location for students under 18.

Students who transport themselves are responsible for arriving on time, remaining in approved course areas, following facility rules, and leaving promptly after class ends.

Students under 18 who transport themselves must have parent or guardian permission. This includes students who drive themselves, walk, bike, use public transportation, ride with another student, or use another transportation arrangement not directly provided by a parent or guardian.

Students who are 18 or older are responsible for arranging their own transportation if they are not being transported by a parent, guardian, homeschool program, charter school, vendor program, or other approved adult.

Cast Forward Solutions instructors, volunteers, guest speakers, or representatives do not transport students in personal or business vehicles as part of the youth program.

Campus or Facility Expectations

Some Cast Forward courses may be held at rented, shared, or partner facilities.

Students are expected to follow all facility rules and remain in approved course areas unless given permission by an instructor.

Students may not wander through the facility, enter classrooms or offices not associated with the course, or disrupt other programs, staff, students, or visitors.

Students who transport themselves are expected to go directly to the approved course area upon arrival and leave the facility promptly after class ends unless other written arrangements have been approved.

Students who are 18 or older are still expected to remain in approved course areas during class time and follow all facility rules, even if they are legally adults.

If a course is held on the Mat-Su College campus, families acknowledge that the course is independently offered by Cast Forward Solutions. The course is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or operated by Mat-Su College or the University of Alaska unless otherwise stated in writing.

Completion of a Cast Forward course does not earn University of Alaska credit and should not be interpreted as a university-sponsored program.

Student Behavior Policy

Cast Forward Solutions strives to create a positive, respectful, and professional learning environment.

Students are expected to show respect toward instructors, guest speakers, classmates, facility staff, and other guests. Students should participate in discussions and activities to the best of their ability, encourage and support others' ideas, use appropriate language and conduct, follow the instructor's directions promptly, and contribute to a safe and welcoming learning environment.

Entrepreneurship and leadership often require students to step outside their comfort zone. Students may be asked to participate in presentations, group discussions, networking activities, leadership exercises, role-play activities, or other learning experiences that may feel unfamiliar. These activities are an intentional part of the course and are designed to help students build confidence, communication skills, and professionalism.

Students may not tease, bully, harass, threaten, intentionally exclude others, use inappropriate language, engage in unsafe behavior, leave the class area without permission, enter unauthorized spaces, disrupt other classes or facility operations, or bring unsafe or disruptive items to class.

Students who are 18 or older are expected to model mature, professional, and respectful behavior. Because they are legally adults, they are directly responsible for their own conduct, communication, participation, and compliance with course expectations.

Repeated disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful behavior may result in parent or guardian contact when applicable, direct communication with the student, removal from class, and/or dismissal from the course. Refunds are not guaranteed when removal is due to behavior that violates course expectations.

Physical Activity and Roughhousing

Cast Forward youth courses are classroom-based educational programs.

Students may not engage in running, roughhousing, physical contests, horseplay, stunts, athletic activities, sports, or physical games during class time or while under Cast Forward Solutions supervision.

Course activities may include presentations, group discussions, role-play conversations, leadership exercises, business planning, writing, research, guest speaker sessions, and other classroom-based learning activities. Physical activity, athletic instruction, sports participation, or recreational physical games are not part of the course.

These expectations apply to all students, including students who are 18 or older.

Prohibited Items

Students may not bring weapons, firearms, knives, explosives, fireworks, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, cannabis products, or other unsafe, illegal, or disruptive items to class.

This policy applies to all students, including students who are 18 or older. A student being 18 or older does not allow them to bring prohibited items to class or to a course facility.

Cast Forward Solutions may contact a parent or guardian when applicable, facility staff, emergency services, or law enforcement if a student brings a prohibited item or creates a safety concern.

Student Safety and Reporting Concerns

Cast Forward Solutions is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment.

Students should report unsafe behavior, harassment, bullying, inappropriate conduct, or other concerns to an instructor as soon as possible.

Students who are 18 or older are responsible for reporting safety concerns, asking for assistance when needed, and communicating concerns appropriately with Cast Forward Solutions.

Cast Forward Solutions may contact parents or guardians when applicable, emergency contacts, facility staff, or appropriate authorities when there is a safety concern, suspected abuse, threat, injury, emergency, or other situation requiring immediate attention.

Emergency Contact, Medical, and Student Support Information

Parents and guardians are responsible for providing accurate emergency contact information during registration.

Parents and guardians should notify Cast Forward Solutions of any allergies, medical considerations, learning needs, behavioral support needs, or other information that may help instructors support the student during class.

Students who are 18 or older are responsible for providing or confirming accurate emergency contact information and communicating any allergies, medical considerations, learning needs, behavioral support needs, or other support information that may affect their participation.

Cast Forward Solutions will make reasonable efforts to support students within the course's structure and staffing. Some needs may require additional discussion before registration is finalized to determine whether the course environment is an appropriate fit.

In the event of an emergency, Cast Forward Solutions may contact the parent or guardian, the student if 18 or older, the emergency contact, facility staff, or emergency services as appropriate.

Medical and Emergency Response

Cast Forward Solutions does not provide medical care, medical advice, counseling, therapy, diagnosis, medication management, or health-related services.

Instructors may provide basic assistance, contact a parent or guardian, contact an emergency contact, notify facility staff, or contact emergency services when appropriate.

Students who are 18 or older are responsible for communicating any known medical, support, or emergency information that may affect their participation. Cast Forward Solutions may still request emergency contact information for 18-year-old students.

Parents, guardians, and students who are 18 or older are responsible for disclosing allergies, medical considerations, learning needs, or support needs that may affect the student’s participation.

Illness and Communicable Disease

Students should not attend class when they are sick, experiencing contagious symptoms, or have been advised to stay home due to illness.

Parents and guardians should notify Cast Forward Solutions as soon as possible if a student will miss class due to illness. Students who are 18 or older are expected to communicate directly with Cast Forward Solutions if they will miss class due to illness.

When appropriate, Cast Forward Solutions will make reasonable efforts to provide missed assignments or equivalent learning activities.

Cast Forward Solutions may ask a parent or guardian to pick up a student who becomes ill during class. If the student is 18 or older, Cast Forward Solutions may communicate directly with the student and/or their emergency contact as appropriate.

Technology and Device Expectations

Members of the Fall 2026 Entrepreneurship & Leadership cohort are expected to utilize hardware for investigative tasks, documentation, and the creation of business ventures.
It is mandatory that all students employ their internet-capable tools constructively and solely for curriculum-specific objectives while sessions are in progress.
Participants must refrain from operating personal electronics in ways that impede the educational flow, infringe upon peer privacy, or involve unauthorized audiovisual capturing of the cohort.
Adult learners aged 18 and above bear personal accountability for ethical web navigation and maintaining the confidentiality of the cohort environment.
Cast Forward Solutions assumes no liability for the theft, breakage, or disappearance of student-owned technology brought to the program.
Students may use AI and other emerging technology tools when they support the learning objectives of the course and are used responsibly. AI should support—not replace—the student’s own thinking, decision-making, research, and project work. Students are expected to follow instructor guidance regarding when and how these tools may be used and to protect personal, private, or sensitive information when using digital tools.

Data Privacy, Student Records & Photography

Cast Forward Solutions collects student and family information for registration, communication, course planning, safety, billing, attendance, and documentation purposes.

Student and family information will be used for course-related purposes and will not be intentionally shared outside of necessary instructional, administrative, billing, emergency, vendor, legal, or program documentation needs.

Students may not photograph, video record, audio record, livestream, or post classmates, instructors, guest speakers, or class activities without permission from Cast Forward Solutions and the individuals involved.

For students who are 18 or older, Cast Forward Solutions may request permission to communicate with a parent, guardian, homeschool program, charter school, vendor program, or other designated contact regarding attendance, payment, academic documentation, emergency information, course completion, or program requirements.

Parents, guardians, and students who are 18 or older are responsible for providing accurate registration, emergency contact, medical, and student support information and for notifying Cast Forward Solutions if that information changes during the course.

Media, Photo, and Student Work Permission

Cast Forward Solutions documents workshops, presentations, and events through photography and video for instructional and marketing use.
During the enrollment process, families can specify their preferences regarding the use of a student's likeness, name, or coursework in our digital or print materials, including our website and social media channels.
Participants who are 18 or older may be required to sign their own media release documentation independently.
If you prefer that your student not be featured in public-facing promotional content, please note this during registration. We respect these choices and will avoid intentionally capturing students without active consent.
Please note that student projects and presentations are shared internally within the class for peer review and learning as a standard part of our hands-on educational model.

Guest Speaker Acknowledgment

Guest speakers are an important part of some Cast Forward courses. Students may hear from entrepreneurs, business owners, nonprofit leaders, community leaders, and other professionals who share real-world experience related to entrepreneurship, leadership, communication, career pathways, and business development.

Guest speakers may discuss their experiences, successes, challenges, lessons learned, and practical advice.

By enrolling in a course, parents and guardians acknowledge and consent to their student’s participation in guest speaker presentations and related classroom discussions. Students who are 18 or older also acknowledge their own participation in guest speaker sessions and related discussions.

Cast Forward Solutions makes reasonable efforts to invite speakers who provide positive educational value and represent a variety of professions, backgrounds, and experiences. The opinions, experiences, and advice shared by guest speakers are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of Cast Forward Solutions.

Guest speakers, volunteers, and community presenters are invited to support educational learning and are not responsible for supervising students outside the approved class activity unless specifically authorized by Cast Forward Solutions.

Facility, Materials, and Personal Property

Students are expected to respect the classroom, facility, furniture, technology, supplies, and materials used during the course.

Parents and guardians may be responsible for damage caused by a student’s intentional, reckless, or inappropriate behavior.

Students who are 18 or older may be directly responsible for damage caused by their intentional, reckless, or inappropriate behavior.

Students are responsible for their own personal belongings. Cast Forward Solutions is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.

Student Presentations and Project Work

Some courses may include student presentations, business ideas, group discussions, peer feedback, or final projects.

Students are expected to participate respectfully and provide constructive feedback. Student ideas and projects should be treated with respect by classmates, instructors, and guests.

Students who are 18 or older are responsible for participating professionally, respecting classmates' work and privacy, and following any presentation or project guidelines provided by Cast Forward Solutions.

Final presentations may include parents, guest speakers, community members, business owners, or invited guests, depending on the course.

Financial Policy

Course tuition is listed on each course registration page.

Families may register using one of the following payment paths.

Direct Pay:

Families paying directly will receive an invoice and secure payment link after the completed enrollment packet has been reviewed.

A student’s seat is not finalized until all required enrollment documents have been completed and payment has been received, unless another written arrangement has been approved by Cast Forward Solutions.

Homeschool Vendor, Charter School, or Organization Funding:
Cast Forward Solutions may bill approved homeschool programs, charter schools, vendor programs, or organizations upon authorization.

Parents and guardians are responsible for providing accurate billing information, purchase order details, approval documentation, or contact information needed to process the invoice.

Vendor-funded registrations are considered pending until funding approval, purchase order confirmation, or payment of the invoice is received.

Parents and guardians remain responsible for tuition if a homeschool program, charter school, vendor program, or organization does not approve or pay for the course for any reason.

If a student is 18 or older and pays for the course directly, the student may be responsible for payment, registration acknowledgment, and account communications.

If a parent, guardian, homeschool program, charter school, vendor program, or organization is paying for the course, payment responsibility and billing communication may still involve the parent, guardian, or program contact even if the student is 18 or older.

Receipts or course documentation may be provided upon request for reimbursement or education records.

Refund, Withdrawal, and Cancellation Policy

Families may cancel enrollment and receive a full refund when written notice is received at least fourteen calendar days before the course begins.

Cancellations received fewer than fourteen calendar days before the course begins may be eligible for a partial refund or course credit at the discretion of Cast Forward Solutions.

Once the course has started, refunds are not guaranteed. Missed classes are not refunded.

Students removed from the course because of repeated disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful behavior are not guaranteed a refund.

If Cast Forward Solutions cancels the entire course before it begins, families may receive a full refund or transfer the payment to another available course.

If an individual class session is canceled due to weather, facility closure, instructor illness, an emergency, or another unforeseen circumstance, Cast Forward Solutions will make reasonable efforts to provide a makeup class, an adjusted assignment, or an equivalent learning activity.

Learning Hours, Grades, and Credit Responsibility

Cast Forward youth courses emphasize participation, skill development, teamwork, professionalism, and practical application rather than traditional testing.

Student progress may be evaluated using attendance and punctuality, participation in classroom discussions and activities, completion of homework assignments, business research journal, final project, final presentation, professionalism, and effort throughout the course.

Cast Forward Solutions provides course instruction, assignments, learning-hour documentation, project expectations, and completion information. At the conclusion of the course, Cast Forward Solutions may provide families and, when applicable, a homeschool or program contact with a recommended final grade or completion summary based on the student’s participation and completion of course requirements.

Cast Forward Solutions does not independently issue high school credit unless otherwise stated through a specific school, homeschool, charter, or program agreement.

Parents, guardians, homeschool programs, charter schools, or vendor programs are responsible for determining how the course applies to the student’s academic plan, transcript, grade record, or credit requirements.

Students who are 18 or older are responsible for completing course requirements, communicating about their participation when appropriate, and signing any required completion or acknowledgment documentation. If the course is being applied toward homeschool, charter school, vendor, or parent-directed credit, a parent, guardian, or program contact may still be involved in documentation, grade recommendation, or credit application.

Students seeking to apply a course toward high school credit are expected to complete all assigned coursework and actively participate throughout the course.

Communication

Official communication with families is primarily conducted via email, telephone, and text messaging to ensure timely updates.

It is the responsibility of parents and guardians to provide valid contact details during the enrollment process and maintain accuracy throughout the program.

Families are expected to notify Cast Forward Solutions promptly regarding student absences, schedule updates, support requirements, billing inquiries, or any other program-related concerns.

Students aged 18 or older are responsible for their own direct communication with Cast Forward Solutions concerning leur attendance, program participation, behavioral standards, and specific course needs.

When a student is 18 or older but involves a parent, guardian, or third-party organization for funding, academic credit, or transportation, Cast Forward Solutions may require formal authorization to exchange course-related information with those designated parties.

Weather, Emergency Closures, or Schedule Changes

In the event of severe weather, facility closure, instructor illness, emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances, families will be notified as soon as practical.

Cast Forward Solutions will make reasonable efforts to provide a make-up class, adjusted assignment, or equivalent learning activity when a class must be canceled or rescheduled.

Students who are 18 or older are responsible for monitoring course communication and responding appropriately to schedule changes, closure notices, or make-up activity information.

Insurance and Risk Statement

Cast Forward Solutions maintains business liability insurance for its educational operations. However, enrollment in a course does not eliminate all risk, and families are expected to review and follow all course policies, safety expectations, and facility rules.

Participation in classroom discussions, leadership activities, presentations, group work, guest speaker sessions, and other educational exercises involves normal educational risks.

Parents and guardians acknowledge that Cast Forward Solutions, its instructors, volunteers, and guest speakers are not responsible for injuries, illnesses, or loss of personal property except as required by law.

Students who are 18 or older acknowledge responsibility for reviewing and following all course policies, safety expectations, facility rules, and participation requirements.
